CENTRAL EUROPE: WHAT IS ITS DESIGN IDENTITY?

June 22, 2023
Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague

The entire long-term project, PULSE, was introduced during this pilot edition at the UMPRUM Technology Center located in Mikulandská Street in Prague (the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague). The introduction included an afternoon series of PULSE TALKS lectures and the grand evening event, PULSE GALA.

From the beginning, our goal was to create a long-term platform for professionals to enable much-needed expert discussions, experience exchange, and opinion sharing from various perspectives across the borders of our republic and neighboring countries. PULSE clearly responds to the need of creatives, experts, and businesses to share their views, inspire each other, and progress.

Among the speakers were world-renowned architectural icon Daniel Libeskind, originally from Poland, Judit Horváth, the head of the Budapest Museum of Applied Arts, and Adam Štěch, a leading Czech theorist and journalist who presented creative works from the entire Central European region.

During the gala evening, the Jan Kaplicky Award, a lifetime achievement award, was presented, and the distinguished guest, Daniel Libeskind, personally accepted this accolade.
