This region is so full of creativity and, historically, it’s not something new—it has always been a region full of great ideas. Think of all the great architects, designers, writers, philosophers, and thinkers who came from here. It’s really the center of Europe in many ways. It’s not Eastern Europe to me, but it’s the center of Europe. It’s an incredibly important region, and it’s incredibly important to celebrate the people who work here. Giving awards may seem like a shallow idea, but when people are thematized, other people from other places in Europe will look towards this region to see how much creativity there is and how much talent this area possesses.”
