JAN KAPLICKY STUDY ROOM

Where did Jan Kaplický work and where was he finding inspiration?

The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a realistic replica of Jan Kaplický’s study, complete with original furnishings, including a desk, a library of books and magazines, and an iconic sofa. The interior is faithfully inspired by Jan Kaplický’s study in London, along with artifacts from his birthplace, a villa in Prague’s Ořechovka district, as well as the works of his father, Josef Kaplický.

The Study Room exhibition, organized for PULSE by the renowned architectural studio Jakub Cigler Architects, includes an extensive library with a collection of specialist and popular books and magazines on architecture and design, lifestyle and fashion, which were a source of knowledge and inspiration for Kaplický.

Enter the world of this world-renowned Czech visionary and get a glimpse of the themes that have influenced his work for decades.

JAN KAPLICKY – DRAWINGS

Jan Kaplický Drawings presents work by the British architect with Czech origin Jan Kaplický (1937–2009) – a visionary designer with a passion for drawing as a means of discovering, describing and constructing. Through drawing he presented beguiling architectural imagery of the highest order.
